Amir studied music and composition in the U.S.A. and then went back to Pakistan to become a well known singer and composer. He acted in a comedy play "Teen Bata Teen",  went on to make an Urdu version of the famous English song "My Heart Will Go On" from the movie "Titanic" and made music for Hadiqa's album "Roshni". He is currently composing songs for Lollywood movies.
